FAQ's about Installation/Enrollment
I'm getting some questions that are unique to the younger grades.
As I get questions, I'll post them to help others. These answers are geared towards the parents.

Q: My child's not 13. It won't let me activate the program.
A: Use your email/birthday in the activation screen.

Q: It says I don't have an active account, but I'm holding the disc in my hand!
A: Find the "Redeem Code" button and type in the SmartMusic code from the disk sleeve.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is needed to use SmartMusic?
SmartMusic works on your PC or Macintosh and requires an Internet connection to activate your
subscription and receive and send assignments securely online. System requirements and support
contacts are listed at www.smartmusic.com/support. They are also listed on the enclosed sheet.

What does SmartMusic cost?
You can purchase a full‐year subscription through our school’s account for $25.50 per year.
Microphones are required for assignments, tuning, recordings, and assessments and can be
purchased at the same time you purchase the software. Macintosh computers may require a USB
microphone adaptor. After the complete purchase, you are looking at spending about $4.00 a month.

How do I get started?
Here are the easy steps to purchase and activate your SmartMusic subscription. While you must be
online to activate, receive, or post assignments and to download music, no web browser is required,
and you can practice off‐line at any time. If you run into any questions, SmartMusic tech support is
free!

If I have more than one music student at home, do I have to purchase more subscriptions?
No. After purchasing a subscription, you activate that subscription on a single computer. Additional
subscriptions would be necessary only if your family would like to practice on more than one computer
at home.
