Private lessons are currently being scheduled at Lakeview. Lessons take place after school or in the early evening. Below is a list of the guidelines we need to follow to insure a rewarding experience for our students and the staff that has agreed to work with them. Please scroll down for specific instructor information.
1. Parents are encouraged to remain on site or to sit in on your child's lesson. This is to maintain building security and the safety of our students.
2. Please enter the school through the back door by the parking lot.
3. Since private instruction is a par of our teacher's livelyhood, parments should be made to the instructor each week, or on a regular schedule agreed upon together.
4. Lesson cancellation must be done 24 hours before the lesson by contacting the teacher. Do not leave messages or make cancellations with the school office, as it is normally closed when our private instructors arrive. Unless it is an emergency, parents will be held financially responsible for lessons not cancelled with 24 hours notice.

Kristin King, a native of Downers Grove, Illinois, began studying clarinet at age ten. She quickly became accustomed to the orchestral stage as she became a member of both the Protege Philharmonic and the Classical Symphony Orchestra of Chicago. Ms. King went on to receive her Bachelor's Degree in Clarinet Performance from Indiana University, where she studied with Howard Klug. This spring she will receive her Master's Degree from Northwestern University, where she studies with Steve Cohen. Kristin has performed as a soloist with the Northwestern University Chamber Orchestra, and the Downers Grove North Wind Ensemble. She has played with the National Repertory Orchestra, the Chicago Civic Orchestra, the Illinois Philharmonic, the Evanston Symphony, and the Columbus Indiana Philharmonic. Patrick Grosser graduated from Elmhurst College with a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies. He has 7 years experience in teaching private saxophone lessons, with 5 years at Lakeview. He currently teaches students from Downers Grove South, Prairieview, and York High School. Lessons assist with music for all band ensembles, teach music theory and mastery of the saxophone, and emphasize how to practice most effectively. Available for lessons in-home or at Lakeview.
