Music In The Parks Festival – April 30th and May 1
WHO: Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Jazz Ensemble, and Choir will be performing in this event.
WHERE: The performance venue is at Viking Middle School 4460 Grand Ave., Gurnee, IL 60031. The awards ceremony is at Six Flags.
WHEN: The warmup/performance times for Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band, Symphonic Band on Friday, April 30th.
Symphonic Band: warmup at 4:50 pm, perform at 5:15 pm
Wind Ensemble: warmup at 6:05 pm, perform at 6:30 pm
Jazz Ensemble: warmup at 7:45 pm, perform at 7:45 pm
The performance times for the Choir on Saturday, May 1st
Lakeview Choir: warmup at 9:00 am, perform at 9:20 am
After the choir performance, we will spend the day at Six Flags. There will be an awards ceremony for all of the performers in the early evening at Six Flags. The performances are open to the public. We will be leaving early from school that day to make sure we have plenty of time to get to Viking Middle School
FAQ
1) How do I find out how much money is in my child's fund raising account?
Our band treasurer will be sending out a report soon with the amounts. The balance would be funds raised
from the Dance-a-Thon and the Fanny May sale.
2) Does the Friday performance include time at Six Flags?
No. We will only be at Six Flags on Saturday.
3) Do you need any parent chaperons for the Friday trip?
We will wait to see what chaperoning help we will need. All parents/family are encouraged to join us in
Gurnee for the performance.
4) Is this an overnight trip?
No. We will return home Friday night at approximately 10:30 pm and meet at Lakeview early Saturday morning.
We will leave the park Saturday after it closes, and be back at approximately 11:00 pm.
5) Are 6th graders able to go on the trip to Six Flags?
Yes! They are part of the performances and they are part of the fun and awards ceremony, too.
