The Lakeview Bands traveled to Branson, Missouri to compete in the American Music Festival. Sight-seeing trips included a trip to Predator World, a ride on the "Ducks", an evening dinner/show at the Dixie Stampede, a day at Silver Dollar City and a stop in St. Louis. All the preparation and hard work during the year paid off at contest time. The Wind Ensemble took first, the Symphonic Band a second, and the Jazz Band took first in their their division, first overall and had the top soloist of the weekend.
