6.02.10-MARCHING BAND/COLOR GUARD-An mp3 of our marching song is available by clicking the LV Marching/Color Guard link on the left . You can click to play, or right-click and "save target as" to load it to your iPod. This will be especially helpful for drummers and color guard members.

SUMMER BAND-Keep your child playing into the summer! We have FOUR different ensembles and the enrollment is open, so the more, the merrier. Plus, it gets your kids out of bed:) Download the Summer School brochure by CLICKING HERE. The ensembles available are:

     Intro to Cadet Band-Session III, for current 4th grade Beginning Band members.
     Intro to Concert Band-Session I , for current 4th grade Beginning Band members.
     Jazz Jam-Session III, for current 6th-7th grade band members, and 5th grade Cadet band
       members that are recemmended by Mr. Tedeschi. See course description for limitations.
     Symphonic Ensemble-Session II, for current 6th-7th grade band members.

LAKEVIEW BRINGS HOME THE HARDWARE FROM
THE MUSIC IN THE PARKS FESTIVAL!

The Lakeview bands and choir brought home FIVE trophies to add to their collection after their awesome performances over the weekend. Wind Ensemble scored a "Superior" near-perfect 98, taking first in their division and overall for middle schools. The Symphonic Band took first in their division with an "Excellent" rating and tied for second overall. Ms. Berman's choir also scored and "Excellent" rating and took first in their division, outscoring four other mixed choirs. The Jazz Band had an "Excellent" rating and took second, behind a great band from Buffalo Grove. Congrats to all!

3.24.10-SYMPHONIC BAND RECORDS-As a part of Ms. Chicoine's student teaching experience, we decided to rehearse and record two pieces. Over five rehearsals, she and the band were able to prepare American Hymntune and Paths of Destiny. Though there are musical elements we would continue to work on if we were preparing for a concert, the band did a nice job in a very short amount of time. ISU INVITATIONAL BAND FESTIVAL-Saturday, April 17
The Wind Ensemble will be traveling to Bloomington for their first ever performance at the ISU Invitational. This contest format will put them up against some of the best middle school/junior high bands in the state. The tentative plan is to leave sometime late morning and return around 10:00 pm. More info wil follow.

BAND-O-RAMA-Saturday, April 17
The Prairiview Cadet Band and Lakeview Concert Band will again perform at Band-O-Rama. They both will perform early, but exact times are not yet set.

MUSIC IN THE PARKS FESTIVAL-Friday/Saturday, April 30-May 1

1.6.10-SMART MUSIC PRO-RATED SUBSCRIPTIONS-We have a handful of subscriptions at a pro-rated cost that go until August. If you're interested in getting this incredible practice tool for your child(ren), please contact Mr. Tedeschi or Mr. Ohlsen.
